Night Scan® Xtreme, Night Scan® 1.0 and Night Scan® Vertical Complete expand reach

A total of three new light towers will be introduced by The Will-Burt Company, the world’s leading manufacturer of scene lighting systems, at FDIC 2013 (the world’s largest firefighter training conference and trade show), April 25 – 27, 2013. The exhibition and conference will be held in Indianapolis, Indiana at Lucas Oil Stadium where Will-Burt will be located center field in booth 9419.

Will-Burt’s roof-mounted, fold-down light towers are reaching new heights with the launch of the aptly named Night Scan Xtreme. The Xtreme has been designed for applications where maximum height is required, such as hilly terrain, locales with mature trees or urban areas with tall buildings. Previously, Will-Burt’s 15 foot Powerlite was the tallest fold-down model. The introduction of the Xtreme doubles the Night Scan’s reach with a model that extends to 30 feet above the roof. The Xtreme includes opposable light fixtures that provide 360° of light capable of lighting an entire scene.

The second new product that will be introduced at the exhibit is the Night Scan Vertical Complete. This product provides unparalleled versatility when it comes to the location and installation of a vertical mast light tower on a vehicle. At less than 6” deep, the Vertical Complete can easily be mounted to the side or rear of a truck and can even be mounted between the cab and the storage box. A self-contained pneumatic elevation system can be located below or beside the mast offering additional location flexibility. Both DC and AC models are available that can provide up to 140,000 lumens of illumination at up to 7.5 feet.

“The Night Scan Vertical Complete is just one example of our connection to our customers and understanding and meeting their needs,” said Jeffrey O. Evans, President, CEO and Chairman of The Will-Burt Company. “As new and sometimes smaller vehicles are introduced into the worldwide market, it is important that Will-Burt continue to listen to our customers and design products that meet their evolving needs.”

The Night Scan 1.0 and 1.5 round out the introduction of new products by Will-Burt. The Will-Burt Night Scan 1.0 and 1.5 are roof-mounted, fold-down light towers that have been specifically designed for small vehicles. As with all Night Scan roof-mounted models, no interior space is needed for installation of the light tower. The Night Scan 1.0 and 1.5 are well-suited for small SUVs and sedans. They provide an affordable light tower solution for chief’s vehicles, squad cars and small wreckers when maximum height is not required. It is self-contained and is available with all DC (12V/24V DC) operation in which a generator or inverter is not required.

“The three new Night Scan models that are being introduced at FDIC address specific needs of our customers in the United States and world-wide,” stated John Stroia, Will-Burt’s Chief Operating Officer. “This launch of multiple products inspired by our customers demonstrates Will-Burt’s never ending pursuit of delivering the right products at the right time.”
