Inflexion is a roof-mounted television broadcast antenna elevation system that elevates an antenna configuration from 1-9 meters above the vehicle’s roof
April 8, 2013

A new television broadcast antenna elevation system called Inflexion™ will be introduced by The Will-Burt Company, the world’s premier manufacturer of telescoping mast and tower elevation solutions for surveillance, communication antenna and scene lighting systems, at the NAB (National Association of Broadcasters) Show, April 8-11, 2013, at the Las Vegas Convention Center (Booth C12142). Will-Burt’s elevation systems are used in the military, law enforcement, fire, border patrol, towing, cellular, television broadcast and live entertainment industries.

Inflexion is an addition to Will-Burt’s well-known television broadcast vehicle mast line. Inflexion is a roof-mounted elevation system that gives OEMs and television stations another option when configuring their broadcast vehicles. Inflexion can elevate a broadcast antenna configuration from 1-9 meters above the vehicle’s roof.

“Inflexion is an example of Will-Burt’s continuous development of new products that meet new and evolving customer requirements,” said Jeffrey O. Evans, President, CEO and Chairman of The Will-Burt Company. “Inflexion allows installation on a broader range of vehicles than our traditional broadcast mast line, giving television stations more options.”

As part of its product offering for the broadcast industry, Will-Burt will be exhibiting its AccuPoint pan-tilt positioner product line. AccuPoint includes two positioner products including the AP-50 and AP-100 that have 50 lbs. and 100 lbs. capacity, respectively.
The Inflexion Roof-Mounted Fold-Down Telescoping Mast was designed to meet the elevation requirements of smaller payloads such as cameras, positioners, antennas and advanced broadcast devices. The roof-mounted, self-contained Inflexion™ can easily be integrated onto nearly any vehicle, from traditional broadcast vans to small, front-wheel drive vehicles. This allows you to take full advantage of fuel and vehicle cost savings.
Will-Burt will also be exhibiting its RibbonLift ™ product at NAB.  RibbonLift employs a unique drive system to achieve a high extended-to-retracted height ratio and is used for various applications to lift cameras, lights, speakers and other equipment for live entertainment production and staging. Available in various height and payload weight-lifting models, the product offers configuration flexibility to deliver on customer requirements for height up to 30 ft (9.1 m) and payload weight up to 1,600 lbs. (725 kg), all from a low platform base.

RibbonLift uses an electric direct drive system and can be installed on either a mobile or fixed mounting platform. RibbonLift also has the ability to be inverse-mounted, enabling it to lower payloads from a ceiling or truss.

“With these two products, we are bringing new solutions to our current customers in television broadcast and to new customers in the live entertainment industry,” stated John Stroia, Will-Burt’s Chief Operating Officer. “It is an example of Will-Burt’s drive to develop and bring to market solutions that exceed our customer’s requirements.”

The Will-Burt Company, located in Orrville, Ohio, is the world’s premier manufacturer of telescoping mast and tower elevation solutions – the world’s one stop shop offering virtually every payload elevation solution from one source – for military, fire, cellular, broadcast, entertainment and other applications. Will-Burt also designs and manufactures military and other shelters made of all-composite materials that deliver higher performance at lower life cycle cost than metal or partial composite shelters. Will-Burt is employee-owned and has a strong commitment to the continuous improvement process set forth by its ISO 9001:2008 certified quality system.
