Arrangement represents Will-Burt’s first international acquisition, further expands

Will-Burt’s telescoping mast product line and capabilities

Washington, D.C. – (October 22, 2012) The Will-Burt Company, the world’s premier manufacturer of telescoping mast elevation solutions for surveillance, celebrates at AUSA its acquisition earlier this year of GEROH GmbH, based in Waischenfeld, Germany. GEROH is the leading manufacturer of telescoping mast and trailer solutions for the military market in Western Europe. The acquisition broadens the mast product line that Will-Burt offers customers in its global markets and gives it manufacturing facilities and sales and service capabilities in Europe.

Will-Burt will be exhibiting a Geroh KVR on tilt system and a KVL mast within its AUSA booth (#201). The KVR and KVL masts are robust, crank or motorized cable driven masts that have been tested and deployed for many years in rugged environments by the German army.

“GEROH engineers, designs and manufactures a broad line of high performance mechanical masts that complement Will-Burt’s product line and capabilities and enable both companies to better fulfill our customers’ needs for elevation solutions,” said Jeff Evans, Will-Burt’s President, CEO and Chairman. “In addition, this acquisition allows us to become closer to our European customers and to be able to serve them even better.”

GEROH cable-driven masts include the heavy-duty KVR mast, well suited for surveillance or communications antenna systems as well as the lighter-duty KVL mast. Each mast may be vehicle, shelter, trailer or field-mounted and has an available tilt system. GEROH also offers the heavy duty Spindle mast with greater weight-lifting capability and pointing accuracy.

In addition to its masts, GEROH also engineers and manufactures its own line of specialty single and double axle military trailers, designed for maximum mobility with high payload capability and low curb weight.

Combining the Geroh products with our existing Will-Burt masts and ITS towers allows us to satisfy virtually every customer need in today’s demanding markets,” said Evans. “Combined with our integration, engineering, manufacturing and Quick-TurnÒ capabilities, we now are truly a one-stop shop to meet our customers’ needs.”

Will-Burt is also introducing at AUSA its VelociRaptor mast with Elevated Remote Weapons Station, the new preeminent mast in the world, delivering a unique combination of strength, stiffness, extension/retraction speed, payload lifting capacity and mast size and weight which enables accurate, elevated line-of-sight fire by remote weapons on-the-halt. The VelociRaptor is capable of withstanding the recoil of elevated weapon systems allowing for greater, safer, more flexible deployment. In addition, the elevation capability enhances warfighter safety by broadening visibility and deployment scenarios over uneven terrain, walls and other obstacles.

In addition Will-Burt is also introducing the COBRATM Mast at AUSA. The COBRA has a higher extended height to retracted height capability than other masts on the market giving it unique performance for certain military and border patrol applications. The COBRA Mast is available in various height and payload weight lifting configurations, from the most compact model, which can elevate 25 lbs (12 kg) up to 10 ft (3.7 m) to the largest with a payload capability of 1,600 lbs (726 kg) extending to 30 ft (9.1 m).
